Welcome to Quelvehin. A rambling Alpaca farm in Brittany, France with two luxury holiday Gites, and as of 2007, home to “Quelvehin Alpagas.” Situated in central Brittany, close to the Napoleonic market town of Pontivy, and yet nestled in its own 12 acres of woodland for perfect tranquillity.

We ‘upped sticks’ and moved to France in June 2003, as you do to ‘start
a new life’ and all that, but our interest in alpacas started way
before that. Our commitment to renovating the stone farm buildings for
holiday lets took priority along with re-claiming a lot of the land
given over to the ever encroaching army of brambles and nettles. The
result of years of neglect.
What seemed like miles of fencing later and all the gates made in our
own workshop, we were ready. The alpaca seed, sown all those years ago
could now develop and we excitedly took delivery of our first three
young males quickly followed by three pregnant females with cria at
foot from Pophams in Cornwall. Sound Australian genetics with which to
build a herd.
